Healthcare Non Reform...
It's been a bit since I've had time to enter anything in my blog. Working three jobs will do that:-). However, the latest shenanigans going on in Washington with regards to the non-healthcare reform have me completely incensed. Below I've included my most recent letter to my US Representative, Chellie Pingree. Please feel free to use any or all of it as you contact your Senators and representatives. I also copied my two senators on the letter just so they are aware how their constituents feel.
We can stop this but it is up to us. If you don't do it no one else will!
==================================================
Dear Ms Pingree,
Please support the constitution and the will of your constituents by opposing the disgusting debacle deemed to be called healthcare reform that is currently being ram-rodded through the House of Representatives. You say you are voting for this because you care about the health of young women in the state of Maine. How then do you justify the fact that passage of this monstrosity could cause as many as 1/3 of all physicians to leave the medical field and that a majority of healthcare professionals believe that this unconstitutional piece of excrement will cause healthcare quality in this country to decrease significantly.*
Please use the backbone that we know you have to stand up to the socio-fascist leaders in the US congress. Being a Maine woman we know that you are strong of mind, body and spirit. Use that strength to really see what is happening here and vote NO on anything to do with healthcare reform that isn't.
Support measures that will actually reduce the cost of healthcare, such as real tort reform allowing the medical mal-practice costs of physicians and insurance rates for patients to decrease. Allow insurers to sell policies across state lines, letting the people purchase the health insurance they believe fits their needs instead of what the state says fits their needs. Reduce or eliminate the Bureaucracy that is the FDA. Creation of private entities to ensure the safety of medicines and food, along the lines of Underwriters Laboratories for electronics, would decrease the time to market of life saving products, would decrease the costs of bringing these products to market and would reduce government expenses and our federal deficit.
In closing, please, please, please vote against anything to do with this so called healthcare reform. Start over and use common sense that is so prevalent in the people of Maine.
Sincerely,
Geoffrey H Keller
